earth

The increased energy of Summer begins to decrease as late Summer approaches.  There is a slow waning of energy during Indian Summer, as though things are at a stand still.  The fruit and vegetables that were planted in Spring, fully matured in Summer and are now ready for the harvest.  The analogy of a cornucopia over flowing with squash, pumpkins, etc…  Corn, hay, and other foods are being harvested and stored for use in the winter.  Animals like squirrels & bears have an internal instinct to start gathering and storing food preparing for winter & hibernation.  If we had a good harvest and are able to have a good store of food we will get through the winter until the next year.  If we have a good harvest we can share and be generous with others on a physical (body), mind, spirit level.

The Earth element is related to “Mother” earth.  Earth feeds us (body/mind/spirit), provides nourishment and a sense of security.  The earth is our home and is familiar & comforting.  The earth provides support for our feet, our homes, etc…  Mother earth is in each one of us.  We are all capable of mothering ourselves as well as having a birth mother.  A mother’s natural instinct is to protect, nourish, nurture, secure, and feed her children.  A mother teaches the child stability and confidence so it cans tart to care for (mother) itself.  We always have a child within that needs to be nourished, cared for, etc…

What we see, hear, and feel around us nourishes our souls/spirits.  We can feel grounded and balanced and have inner peace when the earth element is strong within us.  When you set goals-will be able to fulfill them and will have an abundant life.
